Bridgeway Commentary

Fleming’s Bridgeway Commentary is a good commentary but not overly technical in style. It is good for Bible students. This commentary is easy to read, easy to understand.

Darby Synopsis of the Bible The object of the book is to help a Christian, desirous of reading the word of God with profit, in seizing the scope and connection of that which it contains. Originally written in French, John Darby’s Synopsis provides an excellent summary and overview of each chapter of the New Testament.

Allen – Commentary on Matthew

This Commentary on Matthew is recommended in various quarters, because it has good linguistic and textual resources, as well as including historical, archaeological, theological, and other viewpoints.

Anderson – Types in Hebrews

This is a work on Hebrews by Sir Robert Anderson, looking at the Types in Hebrews which is a tremendous topic in and of itself. Note that this module is not in cmt format, but regular book format.

Henry Allen “Harry” Ironside (October 14, 1876 – January 15, 1951) was a Canadian-American Bible teacher, preacher, theologian, pastor, and author.

This is a combination of Ironside’s commentaries on individual books (some difference in his formatting between books) all combined into a single commentary on the Old and New Testaments with over 700+ entries of passages (mostly one chapter per entry). Harry Ironside was a very popular Brethren speaker and writer, and this work shows his sound dispensational mindset in his commentaries.

My Tracts on Church Attendance The first and foremost reason to go to church is because God commands us to do so (Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) 24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.).
Coming in behind that direct command of God, we go to church in order to worship God Himself. How? Simple. We hear the Word of God actually read and carefully explained, and then we assimilate those principles y exhortations into our personal lives, and that is worship. Without those elements, there is no worship, and there is no success at "going to church." It is fruitless spiritually, and without spiritual benefit to your life, you will get discouraged and stop going, stop being committed to it, and it will ruin your life because you are a hypocrite.
